COVID-19 Coronavirus Lockdown Two
So, about 12 weeks since our last vPub session, we decided to have another virtual lockdown catch-up, back at the vPub.
A few reminders of our vPub evening
THE USUAL SUSPECTS...
- Charlie "Back on the Black Sheep (but not in a Pete Smith way)" Grant
- Pete "Erm, sorry - what was that, guys? I was erm, just reading a message (watching football) on my phone" Smith
- Simon "Everyone in my family has had their vaccination - except me" Piercy
- Tim "Just about the only running I do now is to the corner shop for more nappies" Spate
- Dave "Pete - tell your daughter to pick the university with the best night life!" Noble
Saturday
Charlie, Simon, Pete, Dave & Tim met in the Zoom-hosted virtual pub.
We decided to try a new place, this time ...
The Usual Suspects
Charlie had stocked-up on his favourite real ale
We all chatted about which of our various family members had aleready received their first COVID-19 vaccination
We talked about when we might get ours and Pete asked who of us hadn't yet reached 50 ...
We also discussed when we might get to go on an actual walkies trip - and concluded probably NOT April - but November is hopeful!
Pete mentioned daughter, Emma, was choosing a university and, depsite not looking ahead too far, wanted to be a doctor on Mars!
Tim said that son, Ben, had already gone to bed, after his "fish & chips" dinner (well, actually it was this ...)
We commented on how, at the moment, there is not much on which to spend your disposable income - and then did a show-and-tell on what we had been ordering online:
Charlie - t-shirts
Simon - tech
Dave - t-shirts AND tech
Tim - baby supplies
Pete - "Buying? What's that?!" ... (Well, he claims he's bought an iPad but he failed to do the "show" bit of show-and-tell - so it's probably just one of these ...)
#LockdownFilmFest
Charlie mentioned he was still watching a film-a-day during lockdown - and Dave correctly guessed that the current count is 320 - bonus points!
Which meant that, after the vPub session, Charlie would be watching film number ...
We finished off by agreeing that is was great to catch-up. Virtual is not ideal but certainly better than not at all.
We agreed to do it all again soon - and looked forward to getting out of lockdown, imposed because of this dreaded virus.
